Strain

A variety (also called a cultivar) is a specially selected type of a particular plant species such as cannabis. These are generally types that have particular characteristics that you want to exploit, for example yield, growth habit, disease resistance, hardiness or taste/aroma. There are countless cannabis strains, and exciting new varieties are constantly being developed by seed growers who carefully select and cross different genetics with each other.
