Coco / coco coir

a culture medium consisting of fibres from the coconut husk. It can be mixed with soil to make it airier and ensure better drainage in the pot. It can also be used alone (possibly mixed with perlite or lecanuts) in a hydroponic growing system. This medium looks and feels like soil, but has a neutral pH and contains virtually no nutrients, which therefore need to be added for the plant to survive and thrive.
