Chlorosis

Disease of plants characterised by a reduced or absent ability to produce chlorophyll. This causes the leaves to turn yellowish, pale and the plant to lose vigour. Chlorosis is caused by too little light or a lack of nitrogen (N), but can also be caused by too high or low pH in the soil.
