WHAT ARE AUTOFLOWERING CANNABIS SEEDS?
Autoflower cannabis seeds - or 'autoflowering' in English - are a relatively new invention in the cannabis genetics. The two main varieties of cannabis are the old favourites Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa. However, there is a third, the autoflowering Cannabis Ruderalis.
To create an autoflower, breeders make a hybrid with Cannabis Ruderalis, making it a so-called autoflowering variety.
WHY CHOOSE AUTOFLOWER SEEDS?
The main point of autoflowering cannabis seeds is that the plants "automatically" flower when they are fully grown. This usually happens after 3-4 weeks of growth, which is in contrast to regular - so-called photosensitive - cannabis seeds (Indica/Sativa), which have to go through both the vegetative phase and the flowering phase. It is a growing process that usually takes at least three months. In addition, you need to add both drying and curing time, which is an additional three weeks.
The photosensitive cannabis seeds need 12 hours of darkness a day to start flowering. In other words, this type is dependent on the season and day length - and therefore takes longer to grow than autoflower seeds.
Autoflower skunkseeds are right for you if:
- You want fast crops
- You want a discreet outdoor variety
- You want to grow in windowsills, balconies or places with little space
- You will minimise the risk of mould and rot in your crops due to autumn weather.
- You will have the opportunity to grow 2 cycles in one season.
- You want an uncomplicated indoor setup - no changing of day length, bulbs etc.

AUTOFLOWER GROW GUIDE
Whether you're growing regular cannabis seeds or autoflower seeds, we'd recommend starting any cultivation with pre-sprouting. That way, the germination process is faster and there are fewer things that can go wrong. Then you can easily sow the seed in a pot once it has sprouted.
Of course, when you're about to plant the seed, you'll need to get some soil. You can generally use most types of all-purpose potting soil, but if you want to give your plants the best growing conditions, we recommend that you choose a good, airy potting soil. Aerated soil is essential for proper root development. That's why we also recommend loosening the soil at the bottom of the planting hole if you're planting directly in the ground outdoors, as you'll ensure the soil is aerated.
Unlike photosensitive varieties, autoflower seeds do not need as many nutrients. Therefore, the most important thing is to focus on a good and aerated soil.
Ift. watering the plants, it is important not to water too often and too much. Many of us tend to want to water often - and abundantly at a time - to give the plant the best chance of growth. With the cannabis plant, however, you must be careful, as it risks dying if you overwater it. You can wait until the soil has dried out before watering your plant. That way you know it needs water again.
Once your plants are planted, the next step is mostly patience. Keep an eye on your plants until they flower and are ready to harvest.
AUTOFLOWER SKUNK SEEDS OUTDOOR AND INDOOR
Autoflower skunk seeds can be grown both indoors and outdoors because they are not dependent on a specific amount of light.
The autoflowering cannabis seeds are especially advantageous outdoors, and are highly recommended as you don't have to wait all summer for crops, but can harvest after a few months. This is especially a huge advantage in the Nordic latitudes.
Due to their short growing period, autoflowering cannabis are even much smaller in height, less bushy and more robust and hardy in structure. Due to their low height, they are super suitable for discreet cultivation in the garden, balcony, windowsill and for outdoor so-called guerrilla cultivation.
AUTOFLOWER CANNABIS SEEDS OR SKUNK SEEDS
If you've read through the text on this page, you might be wondering what the difference between skunk seeds and cannabis seeds actually is - if there is a difference at all? Don't worry, in that case you are not alone.
Cannabis is the parent variety from which other varieties, such as skunk and hemp, are derived. In Denmark, however, we tend to call all kinds of cannabis seeds skunk seeds, although in reality it is the other way around. That is why in this text we have used both the terms cannabis seeds and skunk seeds.
